If you are unhappy with the way your Harley Davidson audio system sounds, On the Go Tech in Madison, Wisconsin, is here to help. For over 10 years, our team has been focusing on building great-sounding audio systems that are fun and reliable. We are avid motorcyclists ourselves, so we understand the enjoyment of a long, leisurely ride with some great tunes.
Why does your Harley stereo system sound so bad? Let’s explore together.
Poor-Quality Factory Speakers
First, the factory-installed speakers are lousy. From the minute you turn on your bike’s audio system, you can sense it. The music sounds dull and lifeless. The good news is that we can change that. On the ’98-’13 touring bikes, we can upgrade the speaker sizing in the front fairing to a 6.5” speaker. That alone can get you 25% more sound. On the ’14 and newer bikes, you already have 6.5” speakers. The second thing we do is install a better-quality speaker that sounds a lot better. Now your music has some life to it. You can hear the cymbals loud and clear, and that guitar riff is making you smile from ear to ear.
Lack of Power
Second, you need more power. The radio in your Harley puts out a measly 15 to 20 watts of power to the speakers. When you are riding up the road at speed, you know how much road noise there is. To overcome that noise, you need power, and lots of it. On the Go Tech staff are experts at amplifier selection and installation. You need an amp that is extremely compact in size, has lots of power and doesn’t draw a lot of electricity. That sounds like vaporware, but it’s not. We can get you up to 10 times the power of your Harley stereo system, in a design that will work fine with your charging system and hide inside the fairing.
Not Enough Speakers
Third, you may need more speakers. You can only get a set of speakers to play so loud and then you need more. The good news is that we can add speakers in your lower fairing, bag lids or tour pack. Whatever your heart’s desire, On the Go Tech can turn it into reality.
